Ever wonder what the inside of a tree looks like? This is the inside of an old hollow pine tree, maybe three foot in diameter. Picture taken at eye level opening. I was afraid to stick my hand too far into it, porkies like to live in hollowed out trees. In fact they do most of the hollowing out.

There's a tree with a long history not far from my house. Without going into the story, it's gotten the name "The Devil's Tree." Here it is one morning last winter after an overnight snowfall.

That pine guts is really slick.

I don't think I've ever seen one like that inside before, or a photo of one similar, showing the remnants of the branches protruding within.

Thanks for posting that one. Trees is more than half my work, and I enjoy how they are put together.

We have a few partially hollowed out trees on my land but this one is the only one you can see up in to it. I thought it was pretty neat.
