Wacom Intuos3 for Digital Photo Editing
Does anyone use an Intuos3 for photo editing? I am thinking of getting one that will help make it easier for me to edit my photos in CS3 (soon CS4).
I do all of my work on a MacBook Pro so I wont need a large tablet. Im thinking the 6x8 would be perfect.

I've heard good things about it, but personally never tried it. If you do, let us know!

I have used a 6x8 once at a workshop for Corel Painter. I loved it. I think a size up would suite me better but the 6x8 was very usable.

While I am a very green amateur, I just think it would help me a bit if I had one. $329 at the local Frys.

It may be a total waste too. Unless you are into using photos as a base for creating graphic art one may not be off much help. It is true a tool or two can be used to go into spots like eyes to fine tune problem areas caused by flash or even skin blemishes and fix them a little quicker. I can't justify the expense for what I do and have done. I would much rather spend same dollars for more or better glass or other needed acessories. If you can find one to test drive I would highly suggest doing so before purchase. I'll bet for the same money you can get a battery grip for the 5D MII? Just a thought.

If only I had a 5D MII.
I picked up my 6x8 Wacom tonight from the Apple store and will be plugging this puppy in momentarily.
While I am in no way a professional graphic artist, my brother is and he swears by these things as the best tool to create digital art (after the Cintiq of course) which is what I plan on doing. I am just a hobbyist with great interest in digital art and am tired of drawing/editing with the mouse.

For graphic art they are indeed good. For tweaking photos I can't justify. You will enjoy the ability to freehand much better. I'm saving for the 5D MII.

I've just bought my daughter a VisTablet from Fry's, $129 - but then you claim a $25 rebate. It's 12" wide, with a 10" X 6.25" active area.
I haven't been able to use it yet as she is (rightfully) hogging it, she's using it just for her sketching so far - wondered if anyone out there had tried it on editing photos?

Its sooo much easier to edit photos with the tablet. After getting used to working on it, its like my Photoshop skills increased by 50%-75%. I can do more in a much shorter amount of time.
Im loving it so far.
