I just started experimenting with stacked lenses to get macro magnification greater than 1:1. I shot this with a 50mm stacked on the end of a 55-200mm zoom. At full extension (the first shot) that is about a 4:1 magnification. These are both shots of the center of a viola, which is about an inch wide. Both of these shots are the full frame original with no cropping.
For this one, I backed the zoom off to about 85mm, so it would be a 1.6:1 magnification. The vignetting is due to cut-off by the aperature of the 50mm stacked lens (at f/1.8):

These are the fruit of the shrubs in front of my house. They look like holly berries but in my search, the shape of the leaves doesn't look like the serrated leaves of the holly. It appears it is a type of deciduous dogwood.

Taken on a $200 Olympus camera(not sure if it matters)...really first try at macro....just wanted to post since I think Macro is a cool mode. Had some of a butterfly or two. These were taken at the Bellagio??? in Vegas...wherever that flower/butterfly thing is at.  I liked the results...was impressed.
