This is Margerie Glacier in Glacier Bay National Park. It just calved big time. You can still see some of the ice coming down. Notice the wave. Notice the kayaker. He's about 300 yards from the face of the glacier. Guess how high that wave is, but consider first that from the waterline to the top of the glacier is about 250 feet.

my husband and I were just talking the other day about how people in kayak's have no idea how much of a wave calving ice causes!....we've been caught kayaking miles out to sea in 6-10 ft waves...can't imagine ice cold water and a wave that big with ice chunks being hurled from all angles at you in a kayak!

Yikes! I didn't notice the kayaker until you pointed it out. A little too close for comfort, for me! Nice photo.
