Practically all of my pictures are crooked before I straighten them on the computer. In fact, sometimes I wonder if it's even possible for me to take a level picture!

One way to prevent the horizon is to use a tripod and a head for it that has a bubble level. Some people also use one just on top of their camera -- I guess maybe where the hotshoe is located as I can't think of another place for it.
Maybe seeing life akilter could be a good thing.
