We visited the River Bend Farm on the Biltmore Estate. In this photo, the blacksmith is playing the anvil and is one of only five remaining known anvil players in the country.

PhotoGal, nice picture. Not long ago we went down to my in laws barn to get a few items. They have "things" there that goes back to my hubby's great-great grand folks. I guess I now know we have an anvil. We also have the object on the right that you sit on, only ours is bigger. Now I know I need to get a hammer out and learn to play the anvil maybe!

Taken this morning. Apparently, people were assembling before embarking on a parade. I love the hodge podge mix of small town characters here.

It sure does look like a lot of different groups of folks were represented in that parade!
