Lightbulb Slideshow - DVD Format

Okay photography people, I have a question you should hopefully be able to answer

I am going to make a small photo slideshow for my wedding. I already have several Microsoft programs and Adobe CS3 programs. I just am not sure which program would be the best to work in to make it in a DVD format for the final product.

There aren't that many photos, so please don't suggest me taking it to a professional, I really want to do this myself.

Which is the best Microsoft or Adobe CS3 program to make it in for DVD format? Or are there any other free programs I can downlaod online?

Good question. Hmmmmmmmm..............!

You could maybe put the pics in Flash and make a Flash movie out of them. I would be concerned with the degradation of photo quality though. Im not a Flash expert so maybe someone else could chime in here.

If it were me, Id create an iMovie DVD. This way, you can put whatever music you'd want in the background and wouldnt have to worry about quality of the pics. Or, an easier route would be to just put all the pics you want into their own folder in Bridge, then have the Bridge slideshow play while you open iTunes in another window to play your background music.

Im thinking that the iMovie DVD would be the way to go though.

Okay photography people.......
LOL , maybe ask some video people? "that coal dude" to the rescue.

There's a lot of ways to do this but if you're trying to get it to DVD what you really need is DVD authoring software. First a disclaimer I've never used any of this software as I really never had a need to make sideshows and the ones I have my editing suite has been more than up to the task. Having said that the single most suggested piece of software with probaly about 100% satisfaction is Proshow gold. Not super expensive but all that it reallt does is sideshows but it is the best at what it does. There's a lot of pro's that use it it works so well.

Photodex - ProShow Gold

If you're looking for FREE, yea really free I came acoss this a while back and it looks pretty damn good. Be sure to use the donate button if you like it.

Lastly most consumer video editing/authoring apllications come with some form of slideshow creation but they won't be as good as thw above products specifically for amking slideshows. For that you might want to take a look at some of the Products from Ulead but they are more for video editing.

I have not used the software myself but know a number of semi-pro and pro photographers who prefer ProShow Gold, and they tell me it's relatively easy to use too (always a bonus for someone like me).

I really like ProShow Gold. It's really easy to use and it has several options for different kinds of output.

I use Microsoft Movie maker, it's not too complicated. You can add video, photos, music, sound effects, your own credits and titles. Two layers of audio, for instance if you use video with sound you can add another layer of audio.

Most of the videos I have made are family albums..... weddings, reunions, graduations and such. The only one I can share was one I made a few years ago dealing with some anti-Americans. It should give you an idea of what you can do. It is all photos and photoshop creations. Look under Loser's Club, it's a might be considered R-rated.
