Can anyone tell me about the daily commute to Washington, PA from Squirrel Hill or Pt. Breeze? I am thinking of taking a job there and do not want to move out of the city. Does anyone do it daily and think it is manageable?

1 hour minimum, without traffic.

Is your job right in Washington, or on the outskirts? I agree with the earlier post; one hour minimum. The best way is of course the parkway to I-79 south. At least there will be few traffic lights once you are out of the East End.

You can see I live in Point Breeze. I have had to go to numerous meetings in Washington and it's taken 50 minutes every time. I had applied for a position in Washington and just thought it wouldn't be worth it in the end. To many miles a day.

The only thing that I would add is that if you live in the part of Squirrel Hill that is close to the parkway entrance you are in much better shape than if you live in Point Breeze. I have lived in both places and it is much easier to get to places from Squirrel Hill, at least the part that I lived in (Murray and Hobart), in comparison to Point Breeze (Reynolds Street). For example, you are on the the other side of the tunnel. Going home is another story.
