Women of the nightlife in Pittsburg (Pittsburgh: college, live, club)

What are the single women 25-35 like in Pittsburgh. If u could describe them in one word what would it be? If I was to go out to club or bar what type of women would I mostly encounter.

This has been discussed a little before, there should be some good threads to dig up.

But Pittsburgh is overall lacking in the 30+ department and is typical for any college town/city in the 20-27 department. 28-30 is sort of the transition point where things start to drop off. The main issue stems from a very strong "get married and get married early" type of mentality stretching from gen-x through some of the first half of gen-y. It's a family oriented area and overall, most people will tend to get married right after graduating college...lots of married early-mid twenty somethings. However, this is slightly starting to even off somewhat and there seems to be more singles and people with career-oriented mindsets than in past decades. This probably has a lot to do with Pittsburgh's economy starting to come around, more people staying as opposed to leaving and are probably financially independant. There's finally some social development to the city that would promote staying single, life's not quite as bad anymore for those who would rather hold off on early marriage. A lot of this probably has to due with comparing the last 5 or so years, where the city has started to make something of a comeback, to the past generations that have lived through the steel bust and an overall struggling economy.

So mostly...you're good to go as long as you're ok with college-aged girls between 21-25, you're alright for 26-27 but many will be picked over and you'll have to be smart about who you become involved with, at 28-30 things start to get a bit dicey but there are still some good people to meet, and at 30+ things are a bit underwhelming due this age group having still been part of an era where many grads would have to leave the city/area for their careers...guess you could say that group has been dilluted from the start and is going to be a bit rougher to work with.

And as for a word to describe the typical single woman from Pittsburgh...well I'm going with a phrase: "Able to drink more than you"...yeah it's a drinker's town for better or worse. Pittsburgh isn't a dating haven by any means, but it's not exactly "terrible" and certainly is good for those who can still mix with college crowds. Just plan on having a family and being married in your 30s though, as that's what the typical girl from around here will be looking for.

Seriously, you can find all sorts of different single women in Pittsburgh. If you are looking for certain ethnicities the pool may be limited, and we don't have a lot of the silicone-and-fake-tan-types you would find in certain cities (not that they are non-existent), but otherwise it is just a matter of picking the right scene for your type.

LOL! Yeah, most of the South Side bar hopping girls are pretty sleazy, but they do have everything pretty much on display for you.

Love them girls in short outfits and heels, and there are plenty on Fri & Sat nights at the clubs!

What matters is if you are 18+ and love binge drinking, the Pens, the Steelers, Democrats, and the Catholic Church, then you will have hit the lottery.

That certainly isn't limited to the South Side. That's virtually every where you go anymore.

And I use to think it was pretty good scenery back in the 80s with the women, but it keeps getting better as the years go on. Either that or I am just getting old and trying to feel young again. Haha!

I don't know much about the 25 - 35 crowd, but if I could find one word to describe the 20 - 25 crowd it would be miserable.

I've witnessed this time and time again with girls around here. Sometimes it's blatantly obvious that the person is super negative, and other times you'll find out later that the girl is Mrs. Negativity. It's just the culture here (or maybe it's the bad weather that affects women). I'm not even going to get into the drinking, smoking, swearing, and general trashiness either.

Meeting women outside of the Burgh is like opening up an entire new world. My girlfriend isn't from here and it's as if she's from a different planet compared to other Pittsburgh females.
