Cool Waterworks

So I guess my new apartment is just a stone's throw away from the Waterworks.

Can anyone give me any info about the area it's in? I saw what stores were in it on the website, but any other info people can offer would be useful.

We have a few malls here in NW Ohio that are nearly dead and I wonder if the Waterworks falls into that category.

Thanks!

Waterworks is in Fox Chapel between Aspinwall and Blonox. It's not a mall; it's an outdoor type shopping center. It's not dead.

Its your basic strip mall. There's a great theater there, a grocery store, two coffee shops (Caribou rocks!), and a bunch of little specialty stores. There's also a couple of larger chain-type restaurants there and the eastern end of Waterworks is all torn-up right now...looks like a Super Sheetz or something is going in there. All in all it is about identical to every other strip mall you've ever seen...but definitely alive, and not dead. You've also got a fair-size hospital right next to the mall.

The area, as Hopes mentions, in between Fox Chapel and Blawnox. Fox Chapel is the playground of the rich and famous in Pittsburgh and Blawnox is your average suburban suburb. Can't say anything bad about that area at all.

Hey...are you living in that brand new apartment complex that was just built across from Waterworks off Freeport Road? I just noticed it for the first time the other day...looks like it had river views.
