For God's sake the coaches were standing behind the police chief when he announced his ultimatum. I am sure the coach would have mentioned or discussed this with the police chief. And honestly what would be the cops motive for witholding information?

This thread is about a view from the inside, and these distortions have to be confronted. I feel sorry for the poster since they have to take the brunt of Pittsburgh's anger and frustrations in dealing with Homewood. But, honestly when we talk about change we have to talk about changing the way people think and the culture present in Homewood. The perception by Homewood's residents that the police are the problem is wrong. Not to say the police dont make mistakes, but Homewood would be a hard place to patrol, since human life matters little to some as demonstrated by the mentioned incident.

I agree with you Pitts but I was trying to give some people a little about what we think the problem is.

Homewood_Resident,

I was wondering why you don't get involved in your local library? The Carnegie in Homewood was just renovated and there should be plenty of programs available for all ages.
