Not a good idea unless you want to pay an exorbitant amount for beer....

Yes, they are pricey but they sell beer that you normally can't find in your local beer distributor. They cater more toward the beer connoisseur with delectable tastes.

I am a beer connoisseur and believe me they are a rip off. Also you CAN find the same beer at a distributor (many of which mentioned in this thread) or a six pack shop at a lesser price.

When my girlfriend and I first started dating, she knew about my love of beer and bought me a six pack from Sharp Edge. The total came to $56 bucks for the six pack. That's highway robbery at it's finest, there's absolutely zero justification for those kind of prices anywhere on planet Earth.

Oh snap, that is crazy. Didn't know they were THAT expensive. Damn.

A friend of mine had a family member in town for a cook-out, and they wanted some specific type of beer and we went to the Sharp's Edge to purchase a 6 pack. It came to somewhere around $26. I knew they were pricey, but dang $56 for a 6 pack? CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZZY

Thanks for all the info. I went to save-mor on my way to costco (finally get to have a costco!). The prices are nuts here. I realizes this place is a distributor and sell no less than 24 at a time but wow, $100 for certain cases. In case you were wondering, I went with the church brew works sampler (I keep driving by it and thought id give it a try) It seems like my beer adventures in pgh will be interesting.

Beer prices here are insane and ridiculous. If you're looking to visit a brewery, check out East End Brewing:

East End Brewing Company - BUY A GOOD FRIEND A GOOD BEER (tm)

Everyone there is really nice and you can get a good prices on a great growler.

Rivertowne out in Monroeville has some good brew too. We always take home a growler from there when we got out to grab a bite to eat.

They have some really good sampler platters at good prices too. Make sure you aren't the one driving when you get the bigger sampler platters though.

Vecenie's Beer Distributor in Millvale. They have exclusive distribution rights for many of the yummiest microbrews that are sold around the city and mainly provide direct services to the bars that mark everything up greatly....but they also have a small storefront near the corner of Grant and North Avenues in Millvale. Highly recommended!

Forgot about this place when I responded to this thread the first time. They're literally the middle man between breweries and other distributors that bring the product to their stores. That means you'll probably find the lowest price (and freshest cases) here because they're going to be shipped to other distributors who will in turn charge a higher price.

I bought 2 cases from them for a party last year and they were the cheapest per case in the area. Only thing that sucks is their selection is small because most of the product is set to go somewhere else (unless you know exactly what you're looking for and they have it at their warehouse).
