You should be more polite, zip.

If you're going from Kennywood to Fox Chapel or Shaler, you do go near Homewood.

Mapquest shows this as the shortest route from Kennywood to Glenshaw: Driving Directions from Kennywood, 4800 Kennywood Blvd, West Mifflin, PA to Glenshaw, PA

As you can see, it takes you though quite a few interesting neighborhoods.

Instead, I personally take the Homestead Bridge, then Beechwood Boulevard but cut off and take a short cut through the far end of Homewood to get home from Kennywood.

Gerbil is on a distinguished road
Actually it's easy to end up in Homewood leaving Kennywood. If you go straight instead of turning left at that wacky intersection near the Arby's, you wind up on Frankstown Avenue. I did it once myself.

This is only applicable to people heading toward the East End of course.

this is my last word on this then I'm done here.

I don't know how or what roads we took. We left Kennywood and needed to get to 76 to head down to the Greensburg area for an over night on our way back to VA. we went over the bridge and thought we'd hit the highway but must have turned wrong and went uder 376 instead up on to it. There you have it.

But I guess you must never take a wrong turn in life...good for you!!!

I know how she feels. I have felt that way myself a few times. Believe it or not, not all the forums are like this.

If you want to roll through the 'hood to find out what it's really like, I suggest you request a ride-along from the PPD. If they agree, it would provide both the closest and safest look at the city's underside.

The PPD doesn't even go into some of these neighborhoods late at night unless there is an incident, like a shooting, that they can't ignore.
