There's a place in Verona near or beside the Canoe Club or Allegheny River Boat Club that has outside picnic and patio type tables just above the docks. Excellent scenery. It's a casual bar and restaurant minus rif-raf and high prices. It isn't easy to find as there's no obvious sign, no front entrance off the street and is obscured by vegetation. It's like a secret place that few people know about.

Verona, according to some that do a lot of boating, is seeing an increase of homes being bought with dock access.

I had the pleasure of spending a day on my friend's "boat" about a week ago. Didn't realize it was a 33 footer with full sleeping, cooking, and bathing facilities.

Going up the river and through the locks gives you a very different perspective. We docked at Silkey's for lunch, it was packed, as were other restaurants up the river. That kind of biz will never replace good paying jobs that the river used to provide, but it's a start.

For the less fortunate of us that can't afford a boat like that, they do rent pontoon boats in Millvale.
