St. Vincent is in Latrobe, whereas Seton Hill and Pitt-Greensburg are in Greensburg. The Greensburg area is pretty down-key and a bit conservative, but it's still more tolerant than some towns to the mountainous south and eastern areas of the Laurel Highlands. Ligonier is a small Mayberry-like town with a town square or "diamond" like what you would find in New England, most of the towns businesses surround this diamond. Greensburg and Ligonier both have acreage available, especially outside of the city limits in Hempfield and Ligonier Townships, respectively, although you'll still be within minutes of shopping, dining and other modern conveniences.

Emphasis on first and third syllables, like buccaneer.

I live in Ligonier and am a business owner there and it is a beautiful, completely functional, refined small town like the old days. Lots of events on the town "Diamond" and one grocery store, a coffee house, no fast food (except Subway) and if you want acreage, you got it. Greensburg IS indeed being bought up by developers and look at all the "For Sale" signs along the highway (RT 30) for farmland. It's SINFUL! It's rumoured that the Mellons keep that from happening here in Ligonier, but really, it's a lovely place to retire.
