I'm still waiting for this to be revealed as an elaborate prank. Did anybody else hear about it? They found a film of the complete Game 7 of (what else?) the 1960 World Series, in pristine condition, and it's coming out on DVD now. I guess it hasn't been seen since it was aired in 1960 or something. I didn't even know Bing Crosby used to co-own the Pirates. Now people in Pittsburgh have something to watch this fall, baseball-wise.

I do not think it is a joke because MLB Network intends to broadcast the whole game soon, with Bob Costas as host. The game was on NBC and was broadcast legends Mell Allen and Bob Prince, the Pirates broadcaster.

I didn't really think it was a joke, but is there a complete recording of a sporting event that is higher on Pittsburgh's wish list?

Bing Crosby was one of my distant relatives, so I think it's interesting that he had some ownership in the Pirates even if they suck now.

The only one I could think of that comes close is the game tape of the Immaculate Reception. Although that may be higher on Oakland's wish list...

I've only ever read about the game, when you think about those line-ups and the number of momentum swings in that game... This is just awesome. I can't wait to finally see the whole thing.

This is a great story... I can not wait to watch the Game 7 of the 60 WS. Sure I had known that Bing Crosby was a part owner but only because I'd buy a Pirates Yearbook each season when I was a kid. He was listed there.

This was created by a divice that recorded the network broadcast right off a TV screen. Let's hope that they had good reception that day.
