Noticed banners up at the old Buon Giorno in Market Square (in the corner next to Starbucks) for Winghart's Burger and Whiskey Bar. At least I think that's the name- it was pretty difficult to read. Weird font on busy background (a tattooish looking wing-thing).

Anyone have the scoop?

This updated image from the PDP is interesting:

That is quite the list of facade improvements, and I don't know what DiBella's is (under new restaurants). And I think the bit about a 2013 planned start for the Market Square Gardens project is new too.

By the way, as far as I can tell, Winghart's isn't a chain--could be interesting.

Yeah, the only google research is the Market Square blog (which doesn't give much information).

That's a pretty small space, it will be interesting to see what they do with it. The logo reminded me of a biker bar, lol.

As for DiBella's, could it be DiBella's Old Fashioned Submarines? DiBella's Old Fashioned Submarines It's a chain with local locations in Cranberry and Robinson.

Burgers have become a popular semi-upscale food recently. See for example here:

And there is the new BRGR offshoot to Spoon in East Liberty:

Review: Brgr - FoodBurgh

So I would personally hope for something along those lines.

That certainly sounds plausible, given the lunch trade Downtown.

I love a good burger and would welcome such a place so close to my office!

Me too! And assuming it is something along the lines of what I have in mind, I think it would complement the restaurant scene in the Square quite nicely.
