It would be nice if there was some sort of $3-$5 Fri/Sat night Port Authority mini-bus service between, say, the South Side and Station Square or SS and Oakland that ran every 15-20 minutes. But that'd be in the dream world where our public transportation system doesn't appear on the verge of extinction.

There is a 54C from 18th & Carson to Oakland/Bloomfield/Lawrenceville that leaves at 1:45AM and 2:25AM on Saturdays. There is a 51 going to Station Square every 20 minutes between 1 and 2AM. The last trolley leaves from Station Square at 1:35AM.

Maybe not ideal, but not as devastating as people like to think. I'd prefer leaving a bar 15 minutes early to spending a year parking and then driving drunk.

your sarcasm is so unfair.

the cops were doing their job, which was probably was in response to safety issues like blockage of hydrants and handicap ramps, and blockage of turning radius a fire truck or ambulance may need.

whats funny about this is people complaining about them getting tickets but they know well enough NOT to park in a no parking zone, fireplug, driveway, and so on. of course there is nowhere to park but you cant just "make" a parking spot

Living in the Southside now, I have discovered that the "not enough parking" issue is a simply a myth. There is plenty of parking if you go several blocks away from carson. I think it's more of a matter of people being too lazy to walk a few extra blocks to their car that is the real issue here.

It would be nicer if it were possible to hail a cab on Carson St, rather than calling for one that may or may not show up in a few hours.

Getting to Southside on the weekends and not driving is easy. Getting back is another issue.

A couple cab stands on Carson would be great. At Station Square, there always tend to be one or two cabs waiting at the Sheraton.

Anyone remember the UV Loop? I wish that was still around.

Not true. A 54C gets to 18th & Carson at 2:07AM that goes up 18th during weekdays. On Saturdays, a 51 comes to 18th/Carson at both 2:00AM and 2:18AM. The only day you're out of luck is Sundays, when the last 54C goes up 18th at 1:06AM.
