Painting with a broad brush.

Ravenstahl is the biggest joke to ever hit politics. He has 200K worth of police protection time, as opposed to Onorato with only 20K. Biggest jerk in the world.

Fetterman, definitely smarter that Boy Luke, but I wonder what his true intentions are.

So basically, to quote myself, "It seems like you're just a generally negative person who won't be happy with anything." I listed like a dozen things and you cherry-picked and generalized them. You're going to apply the same dreary formula to anything I say, so why bother?

The attitude toward Fetterman -- this idea that he has some hidden agenda -- continues to elude me. Actually, maybe you're right: I know that, were I seeking fame as a Harvard graduate, the first thing I would do is move to a hugely downtrodden area of Western Pennsylvania, live there for several years making less than minimum wage, and then become mayor there for (at least) eight years. What an exploitative, power-hungry lunatic.

I'm a somewhat intelligent college graduate who threw away a Federal job in order to move to Pittsburgh and be underemployed. You think the paranoia regarding Fetterman is bad? People have come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories about me, too. Many people think I'm a failure. Ditto Fetterman. It's impossible for some people to comprehend that there ARE people out there who just love Pennsylvania so much that they want to help upright her in her time of need, even if it means bucking the trend of what one would typically consider to be "successful". NoVA was the "land of milk and honey". There wasn't really much someone like me could do there to lend a hand. Ditto Fetterman. I actually aspire to be like him someday and help to reinvigorate Polish Hill the same way he's been drawing attention to Braddock. He's a strong role model for me. Granted Polish Hill doesn't have NEARLY the issues that Braddock has, but my neighborhood is still heavily-littered, heavily-vacant, and heavily-blighted---not to mention underutilized (people merely using us a drag-racing strip short-cut between Bigelow and The Strip doesn't count).

He's only after the fame. All this money pouring in to his foundation and he still can't keep that place from dying? Something is wrong there.

Well, Fetterman does come from the priveleged background and has used his family's money to help drive his success in Braddock. He doesn't really have to worry about making minimum wage and paying school loans, etc with that kind of support....but to his credit he has used his gifts to improve the plight of Braddock. It is a massive effort and, despite all of the work being done there, Braddock still has a long way to go to recover from decades of neglect, depression, and destruction...one step at a time Braddock will get there. These are long term commitments, not instant gratification type efforts...
