Any ideas for a good place with a good price to get a fresh-cut Christmas tree? The place I normally go always seems overpriced.

The place I can best remember is in Westmoreland County. Sorry I can't be more specific. They have been on PBS. You can go even when they aren't open. Choose your tree, grab an axe, and leave the money in a shoe box or something.

Just past Flemings Cut your Owner on Rte. 22 East (it is on the right) is a smaller family operation on the left (turn at the mobile home sales lot). I forget the name but $25.00 for any size tree. Large sign right on 22 that you can't miss. We did the annual christmas tree outing yesterday and I cut a beautiful 12' Frazier fir (love having tall ceilings in our addition) ... Kids always love decorating it and they sat with their heads on their hands watching the train go around for almost an hr last night.

I had to trim some off the top and bottom to get it to fit and the angel has about 1/2" clearance from the ceiling.

What price are you looking for? 'Overpriced' can be subjective...

And by fresh cut, do you mean they cut them yesterday and trucked them in for you, or do you want to actually cut it down yourself?

Default Self Cut

I cut my own down at Nutbrown's Christmas Tree Farm on McMichael Road in Carnegie. $50 even for any tree -- totally self-serve. I cut it, tied it up, and secured it to my car. Honestly, the selection wasn't great, but I was able to locate a 10 foot "keeper."
