Furniture stores are way too expensive to buy a mattress. So are most mattress stores, really, at least for comparative quality to something you can get from Original Mattress. Buy a bed from a furniture store if you find something you want, but don't let them sell you the mattress for it.

I think you can find someone to pick up your old bed. Vietnam Vets, maybe, Salvation Army, or some other place that takes donations like that. There's a bed-specific charity I can't remember the name of. I think my coworker over here will remember, will ask her.

That's a good idea. I don't mind bunking on the couch for a night or two, lol

Another vote for OMF. Wife and I finally decided to get a new mattress and box spring in early Dec. We love it and sleep much better. They deliver and set up for you. Mattress's have a huge mark-up on them so keep that in mind if you shop at a mattress store.

Most OMF mattresses are still double sided, too. Other manufacturer's are only one sided.

Wherever you buy a mattress, make sure it's two-sided. I heard about something called a one-sided mattress last night. Sounds as if it would last half as long.

Big Lots has reasonable priced mattresses. Everybody delivers for a fee, IKEA included.
