Hello

Is there an agency or headhunting firm geared to helping the older single Mom in the Pittsburgh area find employment? Where can the single parent (of a young child) who has job experience and training, find employment with decent wages? Does anyone know of telecommuting jobs or work-from-home opportunities or even part-time or temporary work.

Here are some area non-profit and government agencies that will help displaced homemakers and single mothers find employment:

PA WOMEN WORK

Carlow University - Community Education: New Choices

Resources for Employers and Job Seekers from CareerLink Pittsburgh

And depending where you live, there is a social services office that provides employment services.

For example, if you live in the greater North Hills, you would contact the North Hills Community Outreach:

NHCO - When You Need Help or Want to Help Others in Northern Allegheny County

If you don't live in the greater North Hills, call them to find out which office serves your area.

Good luck!

btw, I sure hope you know that you should not tell a prospective employer that you are a single mother.

I sent you a PM with information on one employer I know of that pays extremely well for positions that require limited skills.
