Sharpsburg, Blawnox, Aspinwall, plus O'Hara Township, they're all in the Fox Chapel school district, along with Fox Chapel itself, obviously.

Yes it is. Sharpsburg reminds me a little of Millvale, but not quite as nice. Not many architecturally significant homes in that little town. It isn't doing all that great, but I guess holding its own. Plenty of bar fights and more police activity due to more drugs and things you find more in a cheap place to live. It isn't very big and there aren't all that many kids going to FC school in comparison than the rest of the district. You can probably rent a whole home there for under $600 or a small apartment for $400. It is cheap living and convenient. Not dangerous though.

Also, Indiana Township.

I love Mt. Lebanon, but honestly, south hills traffic is such an utter nightmare that even if we're talking about getting "just" downtown, I think Aspinwall might still win out on the commute dimension. Certainly once 28 is complete.

Might be true. I do love the architecture in Mt. Lebanon though. Lots of stone and slate. Their downtown is much nicer than Aspinwall, but we can shoot over to Shadyside which is nicer than Mt. Lebanon. Not sure how bad the Liberty Bridge is in the morning if you are trying to drive to Oakland? I know leaving the city at 5:00 isn't great, but not all that bad. Not a long drive at least.

The Liberty Bridge is rarely a problem. The Liberty Tunnels get backed up, but you can avoid that mess by knowing some alternate routes.

Hmm, another route that doesn't go through the tunnel? I don't think I know of a direct route. I don't think up and over would be very good. Fort Pitt, is worse, I think. What other route could there be?

You would be wrong. During rush hour it's preferable to sitting in the tunnel breathing fumes.

I live in Beechview, and most of the traffic on my street in the mornings is Mt. Lebanites cutting through to get to Crane Ave.
