The T only runs to the South Hills (southern suburbs) and runs pretty decently....now buses..lol....the easiest way to answer is the closer you are to Dowtown the better the bus frequentcy and options...Beware Pittsburgh is in the middle of a Transit Crisis right now....even though the demand is greater than ever in burgh for Transit the fares are rising and service is being cut....why you ask...because local state politican and port authority management are incompetent crooks that couldnt careless about the people

The East Busway also has regular bus service--enough so that I just go without checking a schedule first. Same thing with buses between Downtown and Oakland.

Ok, so from My Lebanon, how far in the city can you get without too much waiting around? or in a timely manner for that matter...it takes 4 hours here to go 25 miles....is that comparable?

How long would it take me to go from Mt Lebanon to down town Pittsburgh for example? or the Zoo? (can I take PT to go to the zoo from there?) or the Children Museum?

I have a friend who lives in Highland Park, very near to the zoo, and takes the bus daily to her Downtown office. From Mt. Lebanon you'd want to take the "T" to Downtown, which should be a breeze (10 minutes?). Once Downtown then you'd transfer to a bus that should take you directly to Highland Park. I would imagine it would probably take 45 minutes altogether.

The Mt. Lebanon area haas pretty good service, as do most city neighborhoods. Even after the cuts are imposed on Sunday, the waits should not increase much because there are multiple routes that often run on the same streets, so you'll have a choice.

Probably closer to 20-25, depending on the time of day.

Once the North Shore Connector opens up you won't have to transfer; you can just take the T from Mt. Lebo straight to the two new North Side stops, giving easy access to the staidums, the Children's Museum, the Warhol Museum, CCAC, the casino, and the Aviary
