Megabus to announce new routes

Quote:
Megabus.com and city officials will announce a major service expansion in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, with routes to nine new cities, the company said today.
Pretty exciting. I am looking forward to finding out the nine new cities.

I was just about to make the annoucement that The Transfer Hub is Finally HERE.....Midwest meets East Coast through the Burgh...

This will bring alot of traffic through Pittsburgh....

My source is telling me as I stated in the Megabus is back in the Burgh thread....Buffalo/Toronto is a GO...

As well the midwest will be the 3 C's of OH, Chicago, We're guessing Detroit...and more service to NYC, Philly and DC...

I can't confirm Midwest routes as my Source only focuses on the East Coast Network....the route will be Pittsburgh/Erie/Buffalo/Toronto....Boston and Baltimore will still need to transfer in DC or NYC

Toronto would be awesome, especially with gas prices increasing.

Pittsburgh/Cleveland/Detroit/Chicago (maybe axe Detroit) and
Pittsburgh/Columbus/Cincinnati/Indianapolis would also be great lines

It seems the question is whether the nine will include Toledo/Detroit, or something else.

Well, I guess it might make up for the Ohio governor's adamant rejection of federal money for the proposed high-speed rail in the "Three C" corridor...

The New Cities are listed on Megabus's website

Akron, Buffalo, The 3 C's, Detroit, Toledo, Toronto and 1 missing city is Erie....To be honest I would've preferred they chose Chicago in place of Akron or Detroit, but I guess you'll just have to transfer in Cleveland or Detroit for Chicago.

I dont see too many people using Mega and having to transfer twice to make it from NYC to Chicago....They could have a real market if they would just made a Pittsburgh Cleveland Chicago route, people can deal with one transfer but 2 makes flying look better.
