There are some USC neighborhoods within 5 minutes from Bridgeville. You could have your business in Bridgeville and live in USC. I can't remember the type of business you're opening. Music? Chiropractor? It's hard for me to keep everyone straight on here. LOL

Hi,
I have lived in Bridgeville for the last 2 years... The reason Bridgeville Diner failed is because it was poorly managed. The reason that location will never be a successful food business is because of limited parking. Washington Ave/Pike is a great business area with some nice restaurants like Burgh's and Armstrong's and Bee's. There are both Giant Eagle and Shop N Save with in a close drive along with Home Depot, Office Max, a 20 screen multiplex cinema and every fast food imaginable. Not much crime except at local public nuisance spots liked the previously mention Rhythm House which is rumored to supply half the cocaine in the South Hills. |

... about the horse farms on the other side of 79- are any of them there for business or are they all hobby farms? i'm looking to get some experience on a horse farm and work in a vet office or with an equine vet in western pa somewhere. bridgeville sounds great except for the cocaine thing. it's pretty much exactly where i'd like to be, but i'm worried i wont be able to progress my career there- unless the farms are not hobby farms?

Hey Tommygoat
Don't know what sort of business you have, but if you find a larger industrial space I'm looking for an art space. I'm a glass artist and have lots of kilns and power tools, so although my studio is currently in my basement, I'd love to expand... |

It's interesting that you are looking into B'ville to start a business. We just recently did this and plan on opening within the next couple weeks. Traditions Bakery located across from PNC's parking lot. B'ville has a ton to offer and the community is one of the best. Everyone is extremely helpful and you can't ask for more when doing something like this.

Just thought of something....
There is a building for sale on Washington (across from Burg's). Nick owns the jewlery store and there was a for sale sign on his front door. He has 2 store fronts. Go check it out. |

I've been familiar with the area for all of my 31 years. I can echo what everyone else is saying. Retail in the downtown area never seemed particularly strong with all the strip mall up the road in Upper St. Clair. However it's viable for the right business.
Upper St. Clair has some of the highest property values in the area, and South Fayette Twp is one of the fastest growing townships in the region, also with high property values. Whole Foods is putting in a location on Washington Pike, near the I-79 interchange. It's always been a tidy little town that seems like a throwback in many ways. Now seems like a great time to buy there. |
