Where are the Doc in the box on the corners? Do they wear scrubs with "clear heels"? (google Chris Rock). I honestly have no idea where Doc's in a box exsist in Pittsburgh, nor do I understand the term Doc in a box.

Katiana,

Thank you for your factual link.

I guess it makes sense when you imagine that cities are full of flying bullets, it also makes sense to imagine they have medics on every corner.

I resemble that remark.

I realize I might be a little late here, but we have other forums where you can discussed things like planned parenthood and birth control. This is a forum for Pittsburgh related issues.
Yac.

To stay on topic, nothing could convince me to move back to the city.
I agree with Hopes husband.

I am an outdoorsman and I need my space and I have a wife that agrees.
The other issues such as schools, higher taxes, perceived safety issues (I don't feel it is really that bad in the parts of the city I would live in) are just additional items that would keep me out of the city.

Eventually, I'll be living in a nice house with several dozen acres and living off the grid and off the land as much as possible.

Mod cut - off topic remarks removed.

If you're a former city resident, then why did you leave? I'm just curious as to how those of us who currently live in the city could focus our energies to make the city more attractive to new residents before we embarrassingly dip below the 300,000 mark in population.
I betcha you all just FORGOT what the topic was! Here's a reminder! ^

You're welcome. I'll chance it that our mod feels this is relevant and explain "doc in a box". This generally (in the health care community anyway) refers to an urgent care center, especially of the type found at Wal Mart, Walgreen's, etc. I don't know if there are many (any) of these in Pittsburgh.

I would love to live in downtown Pittsburgh but I simply can't afford it. As far as other areas of the city, I get more for my money in Mt. Lebanon. Plus, I've been so spoiled by the trolley that I couldn't imagine not living along it. If I wanted to live along the trolley and be in the city my options are pretty much limited to Beechview or the backside of Mt. Washington and I have far more amenities where I am.

That being said, if I could get a comparably priced apartment downtown I'd be there in a heartbeat, but that's never going to happen.

Where do you go on the trolley? Are you able to go grocery shopping? Can you live w/o car?
