people have been saying that for years. Fact is that one of the neighboring communities is less than desirable and that has been creaping into Bellevue. There are nice old homes there but the school district is not the greatest.

Brighton Heights. Ben Avon is on the other side of Bellvue.
After Ben Avon you have Ben Avon Heights with some expensive old homes and it is a nice area. I wouldn't worry.

So, would you say that overall Avalon would be a worthwhile community to BUY in? I have now switched gears and may consider actually buying...Without being too politically incorrect, I am not looking for too "urban" of an area....like the North Side, brighton heights, etc...

Bellevue is actually great. It reallly does remind me of "mayberry" in some ways, lol. The downtown area has everything you could ever need (Bakeries, restaurants, drug stores, hardware stores, banks, etc). It is a very safe and family friendly place to live, imo.

Maybe moving to Bellvue But.........
Hello, my family and I are moving to the pittsburgh area and looking for the best place to rent for a year until we find a neighborhood right for us to buy in. Found a home in Bellvue....a little on the expensive side, but absolutely beautiful. We have a few concerns though... Biggest concern is the Neville Hill Chem plant. What is it? Has there ever been any problems with the air levels or soil do to the chemicals? We love to take walks after dinner, is that something we will still enjoy in Bellvue? We have driven around Bellvue, but both times it was pouring rain and there wasn't much activity outside. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY REPLIES! THANX
