Hello. I have a little bit of a dilemna. We are looking to have a wedding reception the weekend of October 22nd for an estimate of 80 people and we're having some trouble finding a good location in the Pittsburgh area.

A banquet hall or restaurant would be ideal since we're trying to keep it affordable, we need catering, and parking. Relatively close to the North side or North Hills would be a big plus. We'd like to avoid having it at a firehall if possible. Packages would be great and we plan to have an open bar so BYOB venues wouldn't work.

We aren't looking for something right downtown because places there are more expensive and the parking is often a problem.

Hope you can help with ideas!

Thanks.

I went to a wedding at the Hampton Banquet Hall on Route 8 about 2 years ago. It wasn't anything fancy but it was nice enough and I remember my friend saying everything was included for one price which was nice.

Hampton Banquet Hall - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania - Perfect for Any Occasion

Good luck. My sister is getting married on October 22nd too and she's had her venue reserved since this time last year. I hope everything isn't already booked up.

Gibsonia might be a little far for us, but the place does look very nice and we're looking for package deals. Thanks!

How many people?

5 months lead time is going to be tough. Many places book way ahead of time. October is also one of the more popular months to get married.

Yea, I know it's short notice and that is exactly why I'm trying to get something booked asap. We just got engaged in February and really wanted to get married in October, plus my fiance's Mom offered to pay for the reception and she was dragging her heels looking at places cuz her work schedule got in the way so now we're in charge of finding a place.

We are looking at a max of 80 people.

This may be too big but the Grand Hall at the Priory on the North Side looks nice:

Thanks. We looked at the Grand Hall's website and unfortunately, every Saturday in October is already booked.

The Camelot Banquet Hall

I can't attest to them -- the last time I was there was in 1977, for my sisters' wedding reception. (Yes -- both sisters married on the same day. Two weddings, one reception.)
