Hello, Life has taken me (far) away from Western PA but every Easter, the candies my mom used to get for us at Easter are always remembered. They were great, not like the packaged bunnies you get today. We remember Geraci's in Pitcairn (We lived in Monroeville) and there was a place in Trafford that made beautiful, molded chocolates as well. I remember a chocolate Victorian shoe (large, about 8 inches) filled with smaller candies. The year I learned to drive, there was a large chocolate car filled with candy. And when I started French in jr. high, there was a chocolate Eiffle Tower. We can't remember the name of the Trafford place but I can't find anything via Google. I've found a few things that lead me to believe that Geraci's is out of business. Does anyone remember either or both of these places and know anything about them? I'm familiar with Boland's as well - they did chocolate favors for me for my wedding 15 yrs ago but I know that the place I can't remember wasn't a Boland's. Thank you for refreshing our memories if you can!

Sherm Edward's is the place in Trafford. They have a few other shops around town (Southside, Monroeville) and even one in the Pentagon.

Default Thank you!

I'll have to run that by my mom and see if it jogs her memory too. If it's the same place, I'm so glad they are still in business. Funny - I can't remember if the chocolate was "good" (I'm pretty sure it was!) but we sure remember the wonderful molds and shapes. Just can't find a lot like that anymore. Off to the web now to do some searching on them... Thank you again!
