Default Born here, returned, now leaving again

This is my first time at this forum so I hope I am not breaking any rules. I want to let anyone who is thinking of moving to this area that it has a lot of great things going for it. I moved back to care for elderly parents and within two years, sadly, they both passed away. So, now we are planning to move back south. Wanted to let you know that we decided on Westmoreland county and like it here. We built in a brand new subdivison with a builder who is too good to be true. Not many quality builders like him around nowadays. Our subdivision is kinda rural (built on an old farm...with some cows etc still in the back) with beautiful trees all around and it is nestled back off the beaten track (so quiet) and yet minutes from shopping. Theres a new Target (with Starbucks) and they are presently clearing the land for a brand new super Walmart near here. We are minutes from the turnpike entrance and it doesn't take long to get into Pittsburgh from here. WE had our three grandchildren this past week and took them into the Carnegie Science center and we ALL really enjoyed it. Baseball and football and hockey. A great sports town. Westmoreland county has some of the better schools. We wish we could take our neighborhood and house with us. Just trying to give those of you thinking of moving here some idea of what this area is like. Please email if you are in the market for a great house....extrememly well built on half an acre...mostly brick.

I was telling a lot of the niceties of the area........I never said I love it here. I moved away when I was 18 and lived all over. We did kinda settle in Florida and lived there for 23 years and raised our kids there. I really miss the south and the warmer weather. And, our boys and grandchildren are in the south and that is a huge pull, too. So, we have enjoyed a lot of the things here but I am looking forward to no snow and more warmth.

That makes sense. Its always nice to be around family. We live in Florida and are trying to get back up North. We miss the family. Our parents get to see their grandchildren 2x a year. Good luck with your move.

Moving back from the southwest. When debating where back east (north or south) the snow won over the bugs, gators, and hurricanes.
What one now pays for insurances in the coastal south is extreme. I am headed to Westmoreland County soon.
