Guess we have a very different opinion of WAMO. That was a great station in my day. Maybe it went down hill at some point, but not when I was a youngster. It was great.

Steven Tyler did way worse stuff than just smoking "dope".

What a hack he is for doing drugs, man he sucks as an artist.

Here is some old rap from the hay day of the real WAMO. It is what started it all.

I really wanted to find some old Sly Jock mixes. He could mix with the best from NYC. Those where the days.

New WAMO Returns To Pittsburgh Airwaves « CBS Pittsburgh

Looks like it is going to start out cheesy. Gone are the days of Sly Jock. He was a beast, but I am the only one that remembers him. I am a bit on the old side and been around the burgh forever it seems. lol

Sly is still around the burgh and he isn't a rapper. He is a DJ that would smoke most anyone these days. He mixed with the best. If I find some mixes of his, I will post them. Believe me, I have friends from the Bronx back in the day and they were very impressed. It was pretty competitive those days and not all about marketing. My generation started it all and yours is just following alone and thinking you understand. Most of today's stuff is just copied from the old stuff. That is why I posted the old Juicy Fruit. That was just re-released like it was something new. Nope, it is old as dirt.

WAMO is like B94: a great heritage name that's lost some of its brand equity.
