Default Decent golf course for friend's bachelor party close to city

Hey all, I need some help finding a public golf course near downtown for the start of my friend's bachelor party. The reason for it needing to be near downtown is because we would like to take a limo from the course to the southside after our round. Any suggestions?

Being a Fox Chapel resident, I can recommend Quick Silver. I am not big on pitch and putt courses like Grandview. No offense.

Just thinking bachelor party, where drinking and joking will be more important (most likely lower costs), may factor in. Plenty of other courses out in the suburbs that would fit the bill too...I'm thinking a longer limo ride into town would be a little more fun for the guys, too...especially if you decide to rent some onboard entertainment.

Depends on how much money you have and what kind of connections you've got. I like grandview a lot, but obviously the oakmont country club is about as good as it gets if you have some pull and can get a member to toss some passes your way. Grandview is public and very nice.

I was just kidding with ya. I have played Grandview and it is a good suggestion. Actually might be a lot more fun as well as closer to downtown. Great views and a good bar!

It would be a better choice than my suggestion.

Oakmont Country Club? For real? That's like suggesting a Bugatti for someone who asks what type of car they should next purchase. It's a bachelor party.

I'll second both Grandview and Quick Silver. Both good options.

For close proximity to downtown, Grandview may be the most fun. Previous poster was right.....great views of downtown to your right, Monroeville to the left and Kennywood across the river. Hickory Heights in Bridgeville is also convenient to downtown.

Grandview would be perfect and the views are awesome.

I'm surprised no one has suggested the Bob O'Connor course in Oakland at Schenley Park. It's fairly close to Downtown and not a long ride to the South Side also.
