I was just wondering which areas (if any) have problems with flooding?

If you're talking about right now with all the rain, no where really major. It's been rainy but it's mostly been a light rain and not enough to cause anything more than flooding on the Mon Warf tomorrow.

It has to be a huge mass flood for areas like Millvale, Etna, Sharpsburg and Carnegie to get flooded. It is very rare, but has happened. The towns I posted only get flooded in parts of them that are low lying. Last time it was hurricane Katrina plus we had high waters even before that come up this way.

There are flood zone maps available. These days, they do a pretty good job with flood control on the big rivers. So it is actually the low-lying places along the tributaries that sometimes have issues.

River flooding isn't too common in the residential areas- the parkway and 10th St. Bypass are usually the only ones affected. The rivers are canalized which allows some regulation of how much water is in Pittsburgh

Creek flooding is a different story, a lot of rain particularly in a short period of time can inundate low lying areas near Etna, Millvale, Carnegie and elsewhere.
