The Riverhounds stadium is now fully funded and should start construction soon (although probably won't be done in time for a Riverhounds game this year):

I never thought it would be fully done in time, but excited to see construction to actually take place. I'd guess there could be use on it this fall (i.e. Riverhounds Academy)

I agree. Definitely better than a lot of the abstract-concept names floating around these days, and it is going to be even cooler given the new stadium location.

What if they find out in a few years that the 3500 capacity is not sufficient. Seems there would be absolutely no way to expand the size - other than possibly up I guess. If Pittsburgh embraces Soccer like Football, the stadium wil be too small by year 3.

I think they'll be quite happy if they run into that problem....

Yeah I think if that was going to happen, it would have happened in the past 50 decades with all the pro teams who have tried, and failed. Pittsburgh Phantoms, Pittsburgh Canons, Pittsburgh Miners, Pittsburgh Spirit, Pittsburgh Stingers.

The Riverhounds get good support for what they are, but its still probably not even 1000/game in attendance. I don't think expanding is a worry at this point, but having that stadium + such an awesome location I think they should be able to start pushing that way up.

It seems to me you could pretty easily add an "upper deck" to the seating on the east end:
