I am looking to sell a car, and even though I know I could probably get more money selling it to a private party, I really, really do not want to deal with the hassle. I was thinking of taking it to CarMax, but the closest one is in Columbus.

Is there anywhere local in Pittsburgh that you can recommend that will purchase cars, even relatively old beater cars, and doesn't try to jerk you over too much on the price? (The car is not so old nor such a beater that I'd be better off donating it or selling it for scrap.) I'm looking to sell it outright, not use it as a trade-in.

Thanks for your help!

No private party sales (i.e. not selling the car to an individual person). I'm looking for a business that will buy cars.

You realize, of course, that you will likely get a wholesale, at best, price for your car by selling it to a dealer? What year & model is it? Condition?

Many dealers will sell your car on consignment. They take a 6%-10% fee to sell it. Just call a dealer close by and ask if they sell a car in that fashion. I have done it once when I moved and couldn't take all my cars.
