Funny that they mention Raccoon Creek but not McConnells Mill or Ohiopyle or places like that.

How long are we going to be "Former Steel Town"? It's been more than a generation since the mills were gone.

Once people stop thinking Pittsburgh is still a steel town, Pittsburgh won't be a former steel town anymore.

Forever, we will never shed that label. But that's fine as long as we are no longer considered a current and dirty steel town. And this article along with all of the other positive press will continue to inform people around the world that still think we are a steel town.

I suppose it doesn't help that the most successful team in the modern era of the most popular professional sport in the United States and the most most visible national representation of Pittsburgh is called the "STEELERS"!

I think Steel City sounds a lot better than Gas City.
