Smile Pittsburgh Events Guide

I didn't see a thread like this already on this sub-forum, so I figured that since tomorrow is June 1 we should consider starting a thread specifically just to inform others about upcoming special events in and around our fair County of Allegheny. My goal for this thread is when some yinzer says "I'm bored. There's always nothing to do here." they can simply log online, find this thread, and have their concerns quelled by those of us "in the know" about great things happening in Greater Pittsburgh.

I'll get us started:

June 3, 2011-June 12, 2011: Three Rivers Arts Festival: 450 artists and 50 bands will converge on Point State Park in "Dahntahn" Pittsburgh for a great event that will offer something for (almost) everyone! I'm walking Downtown and am taking my better half for a late-lunch on Market Square on Sunday followed by a free Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert at 6 PM.

Here's a link to the festival's main site: Three Rivers Arts Festival – Pittsburgh, PA – A production of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust

Here's a direct link to the list of musical acts (which, as you'll see in the commentary, isn't very popular, but with free admission beggars can't be choosers): 2011 Dollar Bank Stage Headline Schedule » Three Rivers Arts Festival – Pittsburgh, PA – A production of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
