Was a beautiful sunny afternoon at Blue Knob this afternoon. And it's about 53F now and a very pleasant evening - I'm grilling outside and sipping red wine. Enjoy it while you can ...

Stop being a food snob.

I completely agree with this assessment of the hatred for Olive Garden:

Quote:
The food at both of these places is usually good to excellent. I am so tired of food snob city-dwellers who think they can’t find anything worthy of their delicate palates outside Manhattan and Brooklyn. If Olive Garden existed not as a chain, but as one restaurant somewhere—in I dunno, Newport, Rhode Island let’s say—and it had the exact same menu, service and atmosphere as the chain does, locals and tourists would flock to it and come back to the city talking about this great Italian place they found in Rhode Island. My guess is 95 percent of people couldn’t tell the difference in a blind taste test between an Olive Garden entree and one from some overpriced, overhyped foodie mecca of the moment.

Is The Olive Garden That Bad? |
Don't get me wrong. I love great food. There's some fantastic food out there. But Olive Garden isn't as terrible as people enjoy hating it. I've never had a "bad" meal at Olive Garden. Not great but not never awful. I've had some absolutely disgusting things at the finest restaurants in town, not always but sometimes. Olive Garden is consistent average food. Compared to how much awful stuff is out there, average is pretty darn good for the price. It's not a special occasion restaurant, but it's an acceptable place to grab a bite after shopping, when not feeling like cooking, or for people like BarqCider who literally live on restaurant food.

There's an Olive Garden out at Pittsburgh Mills, 9 minutes from the Highland Park Bridge, easy drive on 28.

I like Olive Garden, the staff is polite, the service prompt and you know its going to be ok when it comes out of the kitchen.

I just don't understand why they always ask you if you want cheese on it. I order chicken parmesan there, the waitress asked me if wanted cheese on it, it already had cheese on it.
