Here is the article:

Pittsburgh airport passenger traffic up | Pittsburgh Business Times

It appears some of the growth is being driven by relatively low fares, which is one of the silver linings in no longer being a USAir hub (pricing is a lot more competitive).

Maybe this means something inside the terminals will actually stay open past 7 p.m. now!

It is always funny coming in on a flight at night and all you see going on is a few vacuum cleaners running. What a shame it couldn't have been a mall as intended, but 9/11 took care of that and our silly overreactions that changed all kind of laws of the land. Yahoo!

It's less funny when you have an evening flight that gets delayed 2 1/2 hours, so all of a sudden you're stuck in the terminal and getting quite hungry, but McDonald's is literally the only thing open.

I'm surprised no one has posted about this.

Agency wants all-year Paris flights

The good news is Delta has found the Pittsburgh to Paris flight profitable enough to fly it from March to October but you're screwed if you want a direct flight to Europe during the winter. The subsidies for the flight ended a month ago actually so it's good to see they have the demand to keep the flight going.

That's strange. We took the nonstop Pittsburgh to Paris flight last December (and it was 100% full both ways). Is this March to October thing a new development?

It is. The article said once summer ends they will fly to Paris 4 times a week until late October then no flights to Europe until the end of march.

Yeah, so they were being subsidized when they were flying year-round, and now without the subsidy they are flying an extended summer (which is better than nothing).
