was wondering if anyone on here new him or met him and what was he like.... I was told that he was very anti-social and not friendly with children. This is coming from a women who I work with who states she lived a few doors down from him. She went on saying that his children were loners and not happy looking kids.

I was a big fan of his as a child and find this hard to swallow

Hardly antisocial. Your coworker is a whack job.

American educator, Presbyterian minister, songwriter, and television host. He was also known for his advocacy of various public causes.

I met him on an elevator. He was friendly and took an interest in who I was and what I did.

I loved Mr. Rogers.....I can't imagine him being mean unless he was upset for some reason.

just because he was all of the above does not make him a good person. THere are a lot of Priests in the catholic church who lived seedy lives. not saying Mr. Rodgers did and I don't rely on Wikipedia or any other Magazine.

Johnny Carson was a very , very unfriendly person off stage but appeared to be all fun, friendly and a joker on tv.

I was always a fan of Mr. Rodgers and would like to hear from someone who new him or who knew of someone who new him. or met him

I have family members who, when they were little kids claim that he was eating in the same restaurant at the same time the kids were having a birthday party. They approached him and he told them that he can't be bothered. I'm not sure how true this story is or isn't, but Mr. Rogers always did strike me as creepy.

This is all that needs to be said. I met him in Oakland and he was just like on TV. He was super friendly and authentically kind. I hate people that start rumors about someone that was a nice a Mr. Fred Rogers. You co-worker is an idiot.
