To be honest, we'd usually find our way to the patio when we went. For that and other reasons the details are a bit fuzzy at the moment.

I'm not sure your claim is accurate. Pittsburgh has some popular sports bars. It has other places with little or no TV activity. It has some places in between, where if there is a major local sporting event people might be watching it, but otherwise the TV activity will be minimal. That is the same range I have observed in other cities I have lived.

It isn't very stimulating to many people that... well have half a brain.
See, I understood your point just fine. You don't like watching TV with other people, and you are arguing that your personal preferences make you superior to other people with different preferences, when in fact it is really just a matter of taste.

I don't know, but I don't think it does outside or in the beer hall/stage section. That was the point I was making above--some places have sections without TVs, even if there is a TV somewhere else on the premises.

I think my point is quite accurate. Pittsburgh, EVEN a place that calls itself "Piper's Pub", is a TV bar. There is only one ethnic bar that I can think of in Pittsburgh and that is the Harp and Fiddle. I guess Patty's Poor House in Carnegie, might be another actual ethnic bar and they don't revolve around TV's.

Is there another ethnic bar? I don't know of any. Is there a place like North Country? No TV's, except now they have an upstairs open for sports games on TV. Never been up there.

No you don't understand the main point. It was there are very few bars that don't revolve around TV. Just because I state way I don't like them, doesn't mean that is the point. It is to see if there are like minds out there or a demand for something that isn't around. Are three others that would prefer intellectual conversation instead of watching someone else's opinions on the TV? Sort of like reading a book instead of seeing the movie. You may want to interoperate things yourself instead of it being force fed and lazy. Maybe you wouldn't understand.

Only a soccer game on and the TV's are tiny. They have live music and dance all the time. People don't go there for TV. I think they have it to see scores of European Football. I don't think people would go there to watch on TV's of that size.
