You're not kidding. I had the "honor" of playing a costume character for one my more regrettable jobs in high school. NOT fun.

I take it this is not a gathering of the Fabulous Furry Freak brothers but something that involves costumes? Oh boy, I'm dying to know a few details.

For the record, Anthrocon was not driven out of Philly by angry villagers wielding pitchforks.

They were already outgrowing their venue in Philly, the Adam's Mark, which then shut down entirely (it has been demolished and replaced with a Target). They had trouble finding a bigger venue in Philly at a reasonable cost, and then Pittsburgh stepped in and provided them with the necessary space (including space to grow further, as they have done).

Here is a link for those who are interested:

It was the Mummers.

They just showed up and the Anthrconers ran for Pittsburgh. Furries hate banjos.

I hope the weather holds right and I wish them an enjoyable stay as well as a successful convention!
I still think they should broaden it to costuming in general.

Trust me...it'll make the conference a lot more fun.

I believe Terrance and Phillip showed up last year, so if you really want to wear your Wonder Woman costume, I am sure you can.
