IMO, very good. Big servings, brisket very tender with melt-in-your-mouth fat, good smoke, especially on the tips, excellent chicken, solid sides. Not a particular style though, so if you're married to the idea that only Memphis/Kansas City/Carolinas/Texas gets it right, it won't meet those expectations. It's its own category of barbecue and should be appreciated thusly.

Just saw the comments recommending Reyna's. Just remember that the Allegheny County Health Department issued a consumer alert about them awhile ago for a few health code violations.

• Foods at unsafe temperatures
• Facilities for maintaining product temperature inadequate
• Inadequate sanitization
• Mice infestation

Reyna's report was from 2010. I wouldn't worry about it.

Now Tram's and Rudy's Grill otoh... that doesn't sound good.

There must be something in the water on Craig Street, because it takes forever for anything to get built and open there. Five months later they're still working on the Bagel place on Craig - Forbes where Kiva Han used to be.

A couple of updates. Miss Saigon88 opened yesterday. I went there for lunch today. I had the vermicelli with chicken. The price was a little high for lunch ($12), but the portion size was huge. In addition to the grilled chicken, the bowl was topped with 3 grilled shrimp and a fried spring roll.

Also, the Bagel Factory at Craig and Forbes opened last week.
