I am so frustrated that I could spit! My guy and I will be moving to Pittsburgh in 3 weeks and have still not found a place to live. We have three dogs (so we need a yard) and he's a music teacher, so we have to be able to make a little noise.
I have been stalking craigslist.org because it's the only resource I know and was really close to signing on for a house in McKeesport...until I checked this board and realized how awful it is. We're looking for a small house with a yard that within 30 minutes of Oakdale, where I will be working. Is that so hard???? We're looking to spend 5-600$ a month. Does anyone have ANY suggestions? I'm seriously going to lose my mind here. |

try the local newspaper post gazette and tribune I think it will help somewhat.... You've put yourself in a difficult spot with the dogs...You could probably find apt complexes that will allow dogs but they will be more money.
craigslist is probably your best bet though g/l. |

I think there is a Propery Management firm in Coraopolis called F. David Sylvester and Associates or something similar that rents out homes. That is in the same general geographical area that you are looking for and they might be able to help you out. I think if you do a web search you can probably pull them up. I don't know if they can find you a house to rent at that price, but hey you never know until you try.
Plus in all honesty if you only have to stay within a half hour of Oakdale, you could range all the way into Weirton, WV (Steubenville, OH too)and that would be a lot less expensive than right in the Oakdale area. Good luck with your move. |

I know you had posted before and were looking for "cozy" and "quaint" little communities. If time is a factor now and that has gone out the window...
Your best bet is going to be Robinson, Moon, North Fayette, and maybe Crafton....nice areas all. I'd seriously look into Imperial too...very inexpensive and there are very nice areas around there too. That may have helped you zippo, but at least gives you some more town names to Google. I'll check into it and see what I can find specifically for you. Cap |

How about these?
Steuben St. - Crafton - Townhouse - What a Steal! (broken link) Crafton 3 BR Townhouse! (broken link) Country Cottage/Bungalow (broken link) Town Home w/ garage near airport (broken link) The more I look and think about it, for the price range you are looking at, Crafton or Carnegie might offer the best shot. Also, McKeesport is nowhere near "within 30 minutes of Oakdale". You're looking at an hour easy at rush. CaptainO |
