Are you that jojopuppyfish? If so, make sure you make time to stop at Jerry's Records in Squirrel Hill.

Yes I am the same one on Stevehoffman.

Still not sure if I am going yet, but I will be driving from washington DC to Canton, so not sure I'll have time for that.

Thanks everyone.....lots of good information in this thread.

Obviously advice from somebody that has never been there. Routes 30, and 172 are going through Columbiana County. That part of Ohio has never been glaciated. The roads are just as winding, and hilly as they are in Pa. The drive will wear you out, and possibly make you sick. Passing is almost impossible.

If you didn't want to take 76 all the way to Akron, you could always catch 224 in Boardman. There is no traffic after Canfield, and the road is dead straight to Akron except for one S bend in Berlin Center. They threw that in there to surprise the drunks.

Route 14 from the State line to Salem turns into 62 to Alliance wouldn't be bad, but there are small towns with lights, and they use the 35 zones to generate revenue.

Oh, I see. I took from the headline "Driving from Pittsburgh to Canton..." that you'd be in Pittsburgh.

OK. So I was the first person to suggest taking the turnpike. If you want to take less miles, go for it. It WILL take longer. There are still many hills in that part of the state of Ohio. You will be using more gas and time to stop at TONS of red lights and stop signs going through the smaller towns. You CANNOT speed going that route to make up any time. Trust me, you will want to take the turnpike and it will be faster.
