Good news, but I'm confused. According to the article, it says it will go in the space where JC Penney's is. JCP will move to the top floor of where Boscov's was.

Wasn't Dick's and something else moving in there?

Movie theater planned for Monroeville Mall

Isn't that a 3 level store? Maybe JCP will occupy the top 2 floors and Dick's the bottom floor?

I thought Dick's and Target were moving into South Hills and Wal-Mart was moving into Monroeville

Penney's will be in the top two floors of the old Boscov's/Kaufmann's/Gimbels building and nothing was mentioned in the article about the first floor. This will still allow Penney's to have a two-story store with access from the mall's second level, with room for another one-level store with access from the mall's first floor.

Bring back the hockey rink and have hockey moms shop there. Hockey moms have big bucks, or their kids wouldn't be able to play hockey. Not exactly a cheap sport!

That's what I thought I heard (or at least the rumor I heard)

No ice time anywhere unless you are okay with 4:00AM for some little kid. Sure is messed up.

Yes. Hockey is losing popularity in Pittsburgh. That's why the Pens have the highest NHL game ratings in the USA (yes even higher than Detroit and Buffalo), the Pens have been selling out every game for 4 years, get thousands of fan to watch the playoff games on a screen outside, 4 Pittsburgh natives were drafted this year (I know it's not a lot but the most at one time every from this area), and hockey enrollment is up a bit in the past 5 years.

It's good to see a theater and a new Penney's going on there. That mall needed something to give it a boost and the movie theater is a great idea, especially since the Showcase out that way has been closed for years.
