Just got back from the one in Carnegie. It reminded me of a cleaner version of Shop and Save. Their prices were difficult to beat (two dollars for a large box or cheerios and 2.48 for a 12 pack of coke.) It's definitely not wegmans but it is significantly better than Save A Lot or Aldi's

FWIW, just saw the sign today indicating that a Bottom Dollar store is going into the Ross Towne Center on McKnight Road opposite Ross Park Mall.

That's more convenient for me than Penn Hills.

I saw on the news that the Bottom Dollar competition is causing Giant Eagle to consider opening discount grocery stores in the area too.

It's about time! Now if we could only get so real competition for UPMC!

Like health care that's paid for via our tax dollars.

Around 40% of all health care is already paid for by tax dollars when you add up all the different government entities. Just a statement, because I remember the background on it from yesterday. I don't have a good/bad vibe here, just is.

Good! That plaza is a bit desolate or something. Hope this helps.

Are they remodeling the GE in McIntyre Square? A friend of mine lives off McKnight and I could have sworn she said they were. I know for a fact they've been remodeling the Monroeville store. But I digress...

I was there last week. I didn't notice any remodeling. I hate that store because the parking lot is such a hassle there.

I went in Carnegie once. I was pleased until I got to the checkout and they put everything back in my cart instead of my bags that I brought... then I had to take them BACK out at the counter, bag everything, and put it back in my cart again. All with a 3 year old in the cart and a 2mo old strapped to my front. LOL

Never again.
