No prob... I like to keep it real lol

Yet there are some currently safe, but gritty areas of McKeesport such as:
-10th Ward (the sliver of da Port across the river north of Port Vue, PA)
-All of the areas east of Patterson/N Grandview Ave, like the Penn State area & Renzie Park area bordering White Oak, PA
-the Kirsty Park area (area south of Riverview Ave) which ranges from 24th St to 37th St and borders Versailles, PA
-the area north of 5th Ave near the Weiss Airport, boardering North Versailles, PA
All of these areas are safe yet gritty (both housing wise and the mentality), and so in some areas listed above crime like burglary, robbery & theft is more common than others. Although non of these areas are anywhere near close to on the same level as "Central McKeesport."

Alleghany angel, you have described my neighborhood in San FRancisco. The second most expensive city in the US. The problem is once that crap is allowed to take over, it takes an army to get it out.

Real estate agents or landlords won't tell you how bad of an area you are looking at. They just want a sale or a lease signed.

Actually I think they are bound by a law that prohibits them from voicing their opinion about the quality of a neighborhood. I had one real estate agent tell me that several years ago while I was looking at houses in New Castle.

Really? I thought they were only legally preventing on commenting on the racial/ethnic makeup of a neighbourhood. Granted, that can unfortunately sometimes go hand in hand, and I suspect that comments about a neighbourhood's general quality could be twisted as a racial comment depending on the area they're talking about.

When we were looking at a house listed as being in Crafton Heights, our real estate agent shied us away from it, saying that it was actually in a bad part of Sheraden. Of course, we ended up in Penn Hills anyway, so it perhaps didn't matter (not that I have any complaints yet about where we live). I'm just surprised that what she did might have been illegal.

I don't see what her motivation would have been to say a house was worse than it actually was? The listing agent belonged to the same company as my real estate agent, and the house was the most expensive of the list we were considering, which would have increased her commission.

That said, it was over a year ago. I don't recall the address to tell you where it actually was. It was off Chartiers Ave, which doesn't help because that goes through a bunch of neighbourhoods.
