I'm having my doubts about coach Graham.

Many will say that the players on the current team were not recruited by Graham, thus giving him a pass. I'm not sure I agree; but what does tick me off is when he says he didn't have the team prepared for the game !!!!
If so, then what the hell is he doing, other than collecting a $2 million paycheck?

His offense needs to be on the field to develop rhythm. Rutgers is among the top teams in the nation in possessing the ball.

Pitt is not as good as they looked in the S Florida game, and not as bad as they looked in the Rutgers game.

No need to panic

the quarterback position has been bad, it was so bad this game that rutgers scored 34 points without doing anything at all on offense (one play all game)

and graham called him out for it a couple games ago and the talk shows went crazy on him. thats why this time around he just said 'my bad im at fault'. he took such heat for saying one negative(mildly) thing about the qb position last time he learned his lesson.

To me, the sign of a good coach is one who can work with what he has, not the dream team he wants. A coach can't be too stuck in his game plan or philosophy especially if the team doesn't have the physical skills to execute it. In the beginning, Wannstedt was trying to take Harris' team and play smash-mouth football. That team couldn't play Wannstedt's game so it was Wannstedt that had to change but he didn't.

Coaches have to adapt and be prepared to change the game plan if it's not working. To his credit, Harris at least understood that. Even if the coach recruits the entire team, they may not work out as he expects and changes will be needed.

That's the reason why I think all coaches should coach high school for a few years. You learn to work with what you got, read your own team, assess their abilities, then design a game plan around that.

You are correct, but, today, it seems as if every big name college head coach has a " system" that needs players that fit the " system" to be successful. I don't really buy that, as a really capable coach should be able to at least be very competitive, if not consistently winning, with the players he has. Isn't that what coaching is all about?
I guess that I'm too old fashioned , having played in high school and college over 40 years ago. ( !!! )

Ok, fire Graham now rather than making us wait 4 more years as he tries to assemble "his team". Graham will probably run the program into the ground if we wait.

This team gets worse every week, and right now they're playing like it's the middle of next month. 2 special teams plays were the ONLY thing that kept this close for 57 minutes.

I am interested in hearing everyone's opinion on this one: offensively, the complete lack of a passing game is primarily due to ...
a) Tino - he holds on to the ball too long,
b) the o-line - the Jacobson injury was too much for them to bear, and right now they offer no protection,
c) the receivers - they are unable to separate,
d) the coaching staff - they are unable to out-scheme the aggresive defenses of Utah and Rutgers.

Your thoughts?

T. Graham has two QB's that have no business playing at the D1 level and the second leading rusher in the country... so what does he make his game plan for today? Throw the ball on short yardage situations!!! A lot of those plays were with Anderson in the game who looks like a High School JV player when he's on the field and Sunseri is just flat out horrible. Anderson and Sunseri, combined, went 9/30 today for 50 yards while Ray Graham only touched the ball 12 times.

Time for Pitt to expand its recruiting pool beyond Italian yinzers if it expects to be anything more than a doormat in the ACC.
